Default PS3 sound?

I have my PS3 hooked up to my HDTV through a HDMI cable. When playing a game everything sounds good but when watching a movie the sound is a little faint; specially when they are talking. I can hear the action sound more than them talking. What's the proper audio settings?

settings - sound settings - audio output settings - HDMI

go into your sound settings and un-check anything above 2.0 PCM. (if they happen to be selected)

...if that does not help, what I would do is keep dolby checked and un-check dts, then set HDMI to bitstream.

See what that does for you?

Yeah, thats what it's on. But I guess I kinda fixed it. Just went to setting during movie and made the sound +2 and changed to linear PCM on BD/DVD settings instead of Bitstream

this could cause some distortion, but if you do not notice then not a problem.

glad you got it sounding better.

What does it mean +2? It just sounds a little louder.
