PS3 controller not turning on console... - Blu-ray Forum

So, anyone have this happen after the 2.36 update?

My ps3 wont recognize my siaxis nor dualshock when i press the ps button.

But it does work once i turn on the unit manually.

Just wondering if i changed anything by accident.

And yes, i did do a quick search first hand, alas no hits.

I'm pretty sure I updated to 2.36, and my controller has been acting a little faulty also. Sometimes it takes ages to connect with the PSP and sometimes it doesn't. Usually works when I just turn everything off and on again.

ive had that happen b4 but after i plug it in once it seems to work again ok. but it has been happening more recently

Yep my controllers have been acting a bit screwy since 2.36. Occasionally when I hit the ps button to turn on my playstation the playstation doesn't respond and the controller blinks until I use the usb cable to pair it.

Same here it won't turn on with the controller....they messed something up in the update apparently

never had any issues with mine on 2.36 even with both ps3's.have you tried re-syncing them again?

It's happened to me before, but only happened a couple of times and when I manually turn on the PS3, after then it usually works fine as it did before.

Since update 2.36 my ps3 will not even enter stanby mode at all, not by the controller or by the power button. Anyone else having this problem? I have to turn it off by the main switch at the rear

No problems here either. Try hooking up via USB and then doing a re-sync.

Yep, that's what I have to do...it's been happening to me every now and then since before the update though. I just turn off the switch in the back of the system, switch it back on, and then start the system with the power button on the console...after that, works for me (until it randomly happens again).

Just a quick note to anybody finding their controller lagging a little, I suggest you disconnect it and reconnect it, that usually helps with me.

Sometimes I noticed when I press up/down or try and navigate the menu on COD4 I tend to get some slow reactions, which doesn't help gameplay!

So once you reconnect the control it will be fine.

I had one incident since the update when the controller would not hook up and I had to restart.

Sounds like another update should be forthcoming pretty soon.

Send your PS3 to SCE. It needs to be fixed.

i have not had a controller issue! bit ever since i upgraded to 2.36 every so often when the ps3 starts it asks me to configure my resolution settings...the message says something like

an hdmi cable has been detected..do you want to use the HDMI cable for both sound and video.

only happening since 2.36

hey mods, can we add a poll on this by chance?

so, what are the findings here...

1. some of yall have problems with the ps button not turning on the ps3 (ps3 is on standby)

2. resyncing issues with the ps3 both in idle and in gameplay

anymore?

btw, my ps3 is always off and i switch it on manually (flick switch) when its time to play... and no, i didnt forget while mashing the ps button on the controllers.

i tried reconnecting it, but it doesnt do it for me.

zman, or anyone at this point...

how do you 're-sync' it? ive been searching the menu quite sometime already

Odd...my ps3 has been booting up normally but my controller always defaults to controller 2!?!?

I thought it was because of the wavebird, but now that I found this thread, I don't know.

Question since this is about the PS3 controller. I have a Panamax 5300 at home (power conditioner) which has a USB plug in the front to charge stuff such as ipod, camera... Now, i can charge my controller using my PC but it doesnt seem to work on the Power Conditioner. Any ideas on this??
