Default Olympic Opening Ceremonies on BD??

I don't know about you, but I absolutely love watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games every 2-4 years they occur. The only problem is that I often never have the time to watch them in full AND they are never re-aired. They are usually some of the most spectacular shows ever produced and are always stunning to watch. I would love to own the opening ceremonies of even just the current Olympics opening ceremony in high-definition.

The only problem though is that almost all Olympic footage is usually owned by the IOC and you rarely see any of footage of anything on television outside of the 3 week span the Olympics actually takes place. Never mind the fact that there are many many different televised feeds shown on pretty much every third TV station in the world, how could they decide who's footage to use. However they could manage it, I'd gladly pay top dollar for it.

Hmmmm.....interesting idea.

I'm sure that a lot of people would buy a Blu-ray of the opening ceremonies....but I doubt there's a big enough market to make it profitable for it to be produced. If it could be profitable then maybe the proceeds could go to support the Olympics? Or poorer nations perhaps. Hmmm
