Default component placement

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I had questions about the best way to decide where to place my components to run my projector/sound with....

Here is the room..... not the best picture, but it was the only one I could find that had the part of the room I'm thinking about using, so I'll describe it as best as possible......

theater pic.jpg

You see my mother-in-law kinda doing the hand-motion of "you can use this space for storage" or something ridiculous like that

The wall you see with the light-switch/dimmer on the far right (that's cut off) is the wall with the stairs going down to the second floor.... you can see the white-wood trimmed "half-wall???" that is the other side of the stairs (you can't see the stairs, it's like an optical illusion b/c both walls look close together, but there are stairs between them) either way, Kinda cut-off is a ceiling fan, that will be removed, and the projector will be mounted there, projecting to a screen mounted on the opposite wall.... anyways..... This "Space" that my mother-in-law thinks is a good place for storage, I was planning on using to put my components, and then run the speaker wires under the carpet to the front, surrounds etc. I'll run an HDMI from that "room" just up the wall to the projector with wire-mold cover until I get someone by to run my permanent electrical/in-wall wiring (just run an extension cord for the time being too)

I know since I'll be using the PS3, the blue-tooth deal can start/pause etc. with the PS3 being behind me (the seating will be in the middle of that room, kinda under where my wife is standing with the bag/kid....) but I realize I won't be able to control the volume "on demand" without pointing the remote over my back shoulder.... I think I can make this sacrifice, as it makes my PS3 to projector connection so much easier (and shorter HDMI etc)

Does anyone have any major concerns about this plan???

Edit...

The open door you see is for another room, and I was planning on storing my media in there..... to the left of that door is a bathroom..... Next post will be a picture of the wall I'll be putting the screen on, taken from where that door is open, looking the other way.....
