Home has been delayed far too long now! Now we allready have trophys and in game messaging i see very little point in even using home! We can go straight into games and organsise game events through messages, plus who is going to load up home to look at a users trophys when you can acsess them from xmb. I think Home is the only reason there not adding more User Avatars or the whole idea of it would be completly pointless. They should have bought out a very simple concept of it at launch and then added to it say monthly. Then all games would have supported it from launch and there would be alot more usefull content!
Anyhow enough of my opinion, whats yours? |

Counting this one, I found 2 threads about Home on the first 5 pages. Where are the rest that are bothering you so much?

There's a whole lot more to Home than just trophies and getting your friends into games. |

Micro-transactions aside, HOME probably won't offer too much initially.
It will be a fun week after the release I'm sure, but after that, who knows. |

I think Home has lot of potential, but it is not going to be perfect when it is out.
It will need to grow. ideally it would be a great place to place mini games with friends, real PS3 games as well, meet up with people who are into the same things you are, show off what you like and your style, and maybe become a place where you can connect to blogs and RSS feeds and other internet sites to discuss gaming. I don't know how well this will do, but if it is a free download, who cares? Use it or don't. At first everyone is praising it and eagerly waiting for it to come out. Now that it still isn't here everyone is ridiculing it and saying it is not any good. I think after a little while it will show its value... i am just upset it is taking this long to come out and want to see them focus on creativity and not marketing. As you all already know, I'm pretty much anti-HOME.
Why? Not because I don't think it's 'neato' or whatever, but because I simply believe Sony could have spent all that money and time making _quality games_ instead. HOME seems to be just that... A 'home'. The only problem is, this one is a major fixer upper and the term 'money pit' comes to mind. Frankly, HOME should have been dropped over a year ago when it was clear it could not be delivered within six months of the PS3's release. Why didn't they? My guess is Sony felt like they entrenched too much marketing hype and PR speak into it to just drop it. It would have been a huge blow to the brand so they pressed on. Problem is, now it could be an even bigger blow to the brand longer term with it's constant delays, release in 'beta' state, quasi-feature set, current beta testers 'bored with it and never logging in' and I'm not even touching on the cost of possible games that team could have developed in that time which may/may not have had success in helping the platform. Sony should have left Web 2.0, you know, _on the Web_. ![]() |

In Home at least you get to use your avatar to do stuff!...instead of just looking at it

You should start a thread about not making any more Home threads.

I have a PS3 for games and media, not social networking. If I want to interact with people online, I'll use Facebook, or Second Life if I'm feeling really nerdy.
I love Web 2.0 more than anyone else alive (really), but keep it in the web and out of my gaming consoles. ![]() Some basic social networking features are fine, but Home is kind of over doing it. kthxbai |
