Default Multidisk players ( Lack Of Them )

Why is there not a lot of Blu-ray multi disk players out.
You think that it would be a simple thing to do.
I myself have a Sony 300 disk Dvd and 3 400 disk Kenwoods.
With the price of Blu ray disks it would seem a natural.
Or could go the sony route for 200 disk at little over $3000.
Seems pricey to me.

As you point out, technically there is one model out there. But at over $3000, they aren't getting a lot of takers -- and the purpose of that machine goes way beyond "playing Blu-rays."

With approximately 700 blu-ray discs released in the U.S., there aren't many people out there with anywhere near 400 Blu-ray discs to use in such a player.

Those types are coming, but its just not the focus right now -- and anything released wold command such a premium it wouldn't be worth it to many people. Personally, I just want to see someone produce a top quality 5-disc BD/DVD/SACD/CD carousel player, with HQV-quality upscaling, BD-Live, DSD over HDMI 1.3, and at least bitstreaming of all the BD audio codecs. If it was at or under $2500 that would be nice too. Denon... Pioneer Elite... Sony ES... somebody ought to get on this.

And once they get me my player, I'll have them get going on yours..l.. I promise.

I think you need more marketshare before they are even concidered. Like Jaded states, until you need a 3 - 5 stand alone, the massive multi disk is not going to be a priority.

Now that the profiles are done, hopefully we will begin to see a manufactuing price drop and eventually a pricepoint for multi disk units that is economically attainable.
