Default Backing up an external HD?

I have ~25GB of files on an external HD. I want to start ripping DVD's to it, but it is FAT32 and I need to reformat it.

My PS3 has 28GB available.

My computer has 8GB available.

How do I back up the 25GB the cheepest way using either my PS3 HD, or something online?

I found some sites that charge $5/month... is that the best way to go? I would like to use my PS3, but I dont think there is enough free space to copy and move 25GB...

If your 25 GB is an operating system that has to say intact, you could purchase Acronis True Image and Backup your HD to DVD DL's. It will take 3 or 4 disc.

If the 25GB is data and stuff, just burn them to DVD's directly.
