Folding/music/PS3 question

So I will set my ps3 to fold at home while I sleep at night and it is set to play music from the hard drive while it folds. I would like to continue to listen to the music, but sometimes it shuts the sound off after I turn off my tv. For example, it will play and fold just fine, but when I turn the tv off, the music goes away, but not every time. The PS3 is connected to my receiver with an hdmi cable and the receiver is connected to the tv with hdmi cable as well. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm far from an expert on this, but I think you would need a seperate audio output, like if I was to turn my TV off then my music will always still play due to having a set of Optical speakers.

I think HDMI would surely just run through your TV but I could be wrong as I've never owned a seperate reciever.
