Default 37" Insignia 720p HDTV

I just bought this from Best Buy...open box deal. Does anyone know anything about it? The picture looked great and I'll be using it for cable TV, Blu-ray, and X-box 360.

Thanks.

I know that I wouldn't spend money on it.

I'm sure you can find info on the Insignia's website.

Many of us understand having a tight budget and not being able to just go out and buy a Pioneer Kuro Elite. But you really will thank yourself down the road if you return it and save for a couple of weeks to get something a little bit better.

Insignia is made by LG, which as has been said is no Pioneer at least it's not made by some no name company.

I just found an Insignia today (46" 1080p). It looked as good as the LG TV under it, and leaps better than the Dynex (?) Tv a bit down. It was $899, that coupled with a PS3 when it drops in price will fit nicely in my $1100 - $1300 range. It's meant to be a "starter" TV, and for under a grand it looked good to me. Any other comments on this brand?

Cool. That explains why the LG and the Insignia looked the same. And why LG was $100 more. Obviously it doesn't match Sony or Pioneer, but LG has always looked good to me.

Also** Someone mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago they thought the Laser TV's had been scrapped. This was actually what I was looking forward to... any word on whether or not they're coming out at all?

Open box means you probably paid a couple hundred less than retail...and i think i saw that tv retailing at $699.00. IMO it would be wise if possible...to return it, save up a little more and get a sony or samsung. Much better quality for your money.

However, if you really like the Insignia and its PQ...then just keep it

I haven't gotten one yet... I'm starting my "lookout" as of now. I'm looking for the best quality for under around $1000. Best color, best black...not sure if I want 120hz...heard alot of complaints about it, but I don't know. My primary uses will be blu-ray and games.

My first HDTV (tube) was an insignia. I got a good deal from Best Buy. Trust me, bring it back and save for something better. After only a week it started cutting off by itself. I gave it to my parents. Then after 2 1/2 years the TV finally broke. It won't turn on at all and it'll cost too much to repair.
