Default NIN - Best Buy for Blu-Ray...

I see in today's newspaper add that Best Buy is selling the new NIN concert album in both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats...BUT...you can only buy the HD-DVD version online - it won't be carried in the stores...

So how does HD-DVD camp spin this? "We have an online exclusive!"

Interesting...maybe a sign of things to come. I would not be surprised if Best Buy shifts all HD-DVD to online-only as part of an eventual phase-out this year. They need the shelf space for all the new Blu-Ray discs. My Best Buy Blu-Ray shelf is so crowded, they're going to have to expand to two shelves pretty soon here. Especially, after Casino Royale, Pirates, etc. hit.

Perhaps they are now limiting shelf space away from HD-DVD, especially with so few movies actually being released, they realise they could use the space. Or it could be a fluke. I wouldnt read much into it, although i would love to hear that due to Circuit City joining with Toshiba to push HD-DVD, Best Buy joins with the BDA and pushes out HD-DVD. Circuit City was the Divx format lifespot, and we know where that got them.

alot of work is going into this video project and the tech wizard trent reznor who is head of NIN is working closely with the video technicians for this project and will probably be mixing the audio himself...it is going to be the best of the best as far as audio and video quality go so far.

In most BB stores, MS-DVD movies aren't selling well. This may start to happen with more and more releases. There used to be some BD movies that were carried online only for BD too, but more and more of them are starting to show up in stores. This is the kind of moves that are going to help push BD sales even further over the top.

Not surprising as having it in store would imply that the hardcore hd-fanbois actually leave the house...
