Default BDP-S300 and KDL-40V3000 (both Sony)

Hi all,

I have a question concerning my Blu-ray player and television.
Is it possible to have the television automatically go to the channel of the Blu-ray player when i want to watch a movie?

I know that my hdd-recorder makes the television go to it's channel when i use it. But the recorder is connected through SCART. The Blu-ray palyer however is connected with HDMI.

I have the above mentioned units.

Sure hope that someone can help me.
Thnx.
André

If your Sony TV is a Bravia then you can change the settings to recognize when the Blu-ray is turned on and change over to he correct input. I now run mine through my receiver so I can no longer use this feature.

Hi drago3451,

Thanks for your reply.

Is this what they call "Bravia Theater Sync" ?

Greetings

Yes. If you have a Sony receiver with the theater sync it will also switch the input of the receiver. Pretty cool feature if you ask me, I can turn on 1 device and it will kicj everything on. Makes it easy o programming remotes to just 1 remote.

Thank you very much.

BTW, today i bought the Spiderman-trilogy and "V for Vendetta" . I soon will be watching movies in "optima forma", that is Latin (i think)

I have a receiver that switches 4 inputs automatically for me so I only need one input on the tv. That is one way to go if you can't take advantage of the theater sync.

Another way is an HDMI multi switcher, but you may have some trouble with your cable box, because I don't think the switchers allow the copywrite info to come through the stream.

Good luck and have fun with it,

Interesting! I didn't know this - now I have to figure out how to do it.
