Default Sony KDL-40V3000

I've been wanting to get a new TV for awhile now and I decided on the Sony KDL-40V3000.

The other night I went to Best Buy and bought it. It was on sale for $1993 plus tax. I was able to convince the manager to let me use a 10% off coupon on the sale price. (Actually, it was supposed to be 12% off because I'm a reward zone member, but he said he'd only give me 10.) I was pretty happy, as I got the TV for 1794 plus tax after the discount.

Fast forward to two days later (last night), I was at Fry's. I was just wandering around and stumbled upon my TV. I noticed the sale price was $1699. I took a picture of the sale sign and headed to Best Buy to get them to price match it. The girl said that she needed to check the Fry's website to verify the price. I know the Fry's website has different sales than in-store, so I was hoping it would be the same. I was even offering to let her call 411 on my phone, then call Fry's. Haha. Anyway, after a couple seconds, she finds my TV on their website and says, "You said it was $1699, right? Because it's a lot less on here." She turns the monitor around and it shows $1499. Then she asks me if I want it for that price instead of $1699. I'm thinking "duh.." but I just said, "Yeah, if that's possible." The manager then came over, approved it and I officially got $380 back on my card.

Another cool thing, since the price of the TV was now $1499, the product service plan price was a little lower because of the multiple price tiers they have for the TV plans. I held off on getting the plan when I bought the TV because I knew I had 30 days to come buy it. I ended up getting the plan for $179, instead of $225. Then I still got 170 bucks back on my card.

Life is good, friends...life is good.
