Question about HDMI receivers - Blu-ray Forum

I am about to buy an Oppo DV-980H player. It says it can do DSD out the HDMI port? I am looking to buy a Yamaha HTR series HDMI switching Receiver (a la the 6180 or new 6280 about to be released). I am looking at the specs of all their models and I see nothing mentioned about DSD? How would I know if they could accept, play, and decode a DSD signal from the Oppo?

The receiver must have HDMI V1.2 or V1.3 HDMI ports to accept DSD.

Even then, you must still check the spec to make sure it supports DSD. If the manfacturer doesn't claim this capability, then it probably doesn't do it.

Specs never say "it DOESN'T do DSD (etc)..."

Best source of information is probably the relevant AVS owners thread.
