Good flick. Was surprised how good Carrey was in a none comedic role.

Great news - I really enjoyed The Majestic. This, along with The Truman Show, are among my top five favorite JC films...

Happy about the announcement but would like to have seen this as the cover art instead.

'The Majestic' was filmed (primarily) in Ferndale, CA. Last year, while visiting the town, I managed to get my hands on one of these:

Story (click the link to read and scroll down to see additional photos of the print):

And, soon, I'll have a copy of the movie on Blu-ray to go with it!

my g/f swears this is one of the worst movies she's ever seen (i think the worst she's ever seen is when i made her watch "Jerry Maguire"), but the parts of it i've seen didn't seem so bad. never got to finish the movie, so i may pick it up just to a) piss her off; and b) see how it ends...

I LOVE this movie. The only issue with it is the voice-over narration differing a lot from how Jim Carrey sounds. Otherwise, I found this movie to be incredibly beautiful and moving.

I've seen the movie at least 20 times. The voiceover narration sounds like Jim Carrey to me. And, I agree, the movie is incredibly beautiful and moving.

This is great news. I adore this movie. Whenever I watch this one or Truman Show, I find myself wishing Jim Carrey's career had gone in a different direction.

Glad Warner is offering this as a stand alone title out of the gate. Nice not to have to wait or buy two other titles to get it.

I could never understand why this movie never really hit it off with general audiences. Everything from script to acting was a home run. This is one of my all time favorite movies ever!

I think the problem was that the average movie going audience was expecting to see another comedy from JC - when it turned out to be a drama, they were disappointed & stayed away. Personally, I found it an amazing story, and very educational - TM and Woody Allen's excellent '70's flick The Front are two of the best movies I've seen about the Hollywood blacklisting era....

Forgot that Laurie from The Walking Dead is also in TM - yet another great reason to re-watch this film...

To me The Majestic is a film that I can easily watch several times a year and often do, and gives me yet another DVD I can retire. That leaves 12 films in my collection that I am patiently waiting on announcements to make the upgrade from DVD to Blu-Ray, and 4 additional films that are either announced or already available in the US or overseas.
