Sorry if there's been a poll for this, but I did the search and found nothing...

So, what do you use?

Right now I'm on TV speakers, but I'm getting a proper surround system on or just after Xmas.

You didn't put in a choice for 6.1
That's what I have, and yes it supports lossless. I did run wire so that I could add 7.1, but so far I haven't heard a soundtrack that made me think "wow, I really need 2 back speakers"

I know, I was in a hurry and didn't enter as many options as I needed, hence the "other".

Well, my reciever is 7.1 (lossless) but I only utilize a 5.1 setup since there are is so little 7.1 discrete source material. I can't justify the money for matching surrounds since there is next to nothing published with a 7.1 soundtrack.

I have the same, but marked supports 5.1 lossless. Not sure what would be the "correct" choice. I guess 5.1 since i dont have the 2 rear speakers hooked up...

I have a 5.1 system for now. My Onkyo Pre/Pro and Denon DVD 3800BDCI support and transmit Lossless signal.

Did you just ignore 6.1 setups all together? I have a 6.1 lossless setup, which contains a single center rear surround speaker instead of two. DTS-ES and Dolby Digital-EX soundtracks were 6.1, and Dolby True HD and DTS-HD MA 7.1 soundtracks are mapped through correctly by most receivers.

I had to select "other" in the poll.

You should mark the number of channels you have set up, since that's all you'll ever hear.

Well, UF Alien, you failed to put in a choice for 6.1. Which is what I am running, like George Foreman up there.

I explained the lack of 6.1, I was rushing and didn't enter enough poll options XD

That's what other is for...

In the never ending quest of uprgrading, I will eventually get to 5.1, but am currently running 2.1. I first need a 5 ch separate amp (anyone have some spare change to send my way ), and then I will pick up my matching center and surrounds (Song Center and Song Surrounds: http://www.salksound.com/songcenter.shtml

It's always great to find other college students who love to delve into the A/V world - audio has recently become quite an important hobby in my life. Of course, the downside is that there is no one else I know with anything even remotely close in equipment, so there's no one outside of the forums to converse with about this stuff. Dammit!

5.1 lossless HDMI

I don't have room to utilize 7.1 properly, but my receiver supports it.
Once my wife and I move into a new house next year I'll likely add a few bookshelf speakers and upgrade my fronts and sell the current ones.

Probably go from Paradigm Monitor 11v5's to Studio 100's.
