My PS3 is starting to act up on me. When i turn it on it is starting to just stay black and not even bring up the Main screen were you do all the setting. I have the latest firmware. it is a 40g PS3 I have turned it off then on again and it has been hit or miss everytime on it booting up all the way or staying black

Try putting the system on standby, then press and HOLD the
reset button for about 5 seconds until your system beeps!

You sure it's not a handshake issue over HDMI between the PS3 and your set? Try a different cable or a different connection method to see if that makes a difference.

I checked all the connections when i turn it on and it is blank if i leave it for about 5-10 minutes it will finally show up. I called sony they told me i need to try A full system restore so hopefully that works.

That seems to be Sony's response to everything. How old is your PS3?

It is starting up now it seems but it still has the problem that i posted about in another thread. I just bought a new refrence series setup from Klipsch, when i start a movie or stop a movie anything like that or even boot up the ps3 it make a quick pop kina kakling sound. To me it sounds like when you have your PC speakers on and you reboot your pc and those speakers make a popping sound. How do you fix this. I never heard it when i had my Kenwoods hooked up, but i dont think it is the speakers b/c it doesnt do it with my HD player or CD player or Ipod? Anyhelp would be appreciated that noise is anoying. but it only happens at those points in time when the movie is playing it doesnt do that. Just when i start or stop or power on/off the ps3

If you bought it in July , it should be ok, Hell thats only 3 months! Try hooking it up to another TV , any TV & let me know the out come...?
