What kind of monitor is it? My 20" widescreen LCD has component connections on it, and you could use that with your PS3 assuming it has the same. If all you have is VGA, I think you're hosed.

If you have DVI, you can use a HDMI > DVI cable.

No you're not screwed. Check the Neoya piece. It comes from China and it actually works up to 1080p. It takes Component and converts it to VGA with synch.

So I might try this:

http://www.vdigi.com/index.php?page=...chk=1&Itemid=1

Then it gets a bit complicated...

One of these -

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Then for the audio:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

and two the these to hook to the audio cable on the vga and one to hook to PC speakers/heaphones.

Anyone foresee any problems I might run into?

Screw it. It would just be easier to buy other power cord and move the PS3 to the bedroom tv and use the standard cables.

Just run the audio via Toslink (fiber optic) straight from the PS3 to receiver or display. ...unless you want HD audio. That's a different ballgame and you need HDMI for sure. The unit mentioned is strictly video related.

Can't use the receiver as it will be used for tv viewing at the same time. Need rca hookups.
