Default PS3 to VGA?

Hey i was just wondering if i could connect my ps3 to my vga moniter. I know that you can connect a hdmi to dvi but could i then put an adapter on that dvi-vga or would i loose picture quality etc etc...

Plus how would i connect sound to it?

you could daisy chain an HDMI cable with a dvi adapter and then a VGA adapter... uhh yes u would lose quality, check your monitors maximum resolution. My monitor has an hdmi slot slow im fine. why are you doing this anyway

Um was just a general query, thats what i meant about the connection. I was just wondering because i would be able to recieve 1080p on my moniter. And i only recieve 1080i on my tv. Probly won't ever do it. Was just a query
