I read that as a good start in Europe compared to the 360 and the wii !! Compare the price and the amount of units sold to the others!! Its damn good when you look at cost of each console and still sale that many!!

It depends on your outlook, I wasn't expecting them to sell 1 million units in one day.

But i agree as time goes on this year there will have to be a price drop in all areas of the world, even if big name games do come out this year!!

I hope all 3 consoles do well!! In my eyes when 1 consoles owns most of the market it lowers the quality of the games. I think this generation will have the best games compard to past consoles!!

Many stores are reporting potential sell outs of PS3s over the weekend. Not bad considering they had a lot of time to build up stock for this launch. Just because there wasn't pandemonium, doesn't mean people weren't interested. I think stores saw what happened in the US launch and made changes accordingly.

all the ps3 needs is some games. after that, everything will be fine. sony is just paying the price of being an innovator right now. the demand will catch up to the price once people get these in their homes and their friends come over.

LOL - exactly. Honestly what a bunch of jerks. A million consoles available for the whole of europe... and most of the fuders conviniently forget that a lot of consoles were sold online or reserved (witness the major British outlets reporting record pre-sales just a few weeks ago...)... and these sales figures are still ahead of the 360, so again, who are they trying to kid?

And Sony have been saying for a long time now that they will have plenty available for launch day (and Amazon UK advertised this on their homepage as well for weeks that they will have plenty for launch day).

You can go on and on until you're blue in the face trying to counter the fud with facts, but what's the point.

And I think seeing the pandemonium in the US and Japan probably served to deter most consumers from camping out there and going a more sensible route to getting their console. Though for a free Bravio 46", I probably would have glady camped out too.

I think they were all worried about what happened here in the states would happen there, but it seems like from what i read some of stores did not have midnight launches in fear off what would happen there and other store that did have them took measure to insure safety.

The media is amazed that people didn't camp out in line for a system they had on pre-order and were guaranteed to get at normal store hours during the day.

I didn't rush to the store to pick my pre-ordered system up. Does that mean I hate the PS3?

Yes it does. You should've been there at midnight, picked a few fights and shot as many people as possible. Now, THAT'S a console launch
