Default PS3 European Launch

I think it's interesting to see how fast blu-ray has caught up after the Nov. PS3 launch. I don't know specifics but I'm guessing HD DVD had at least a 5 month jump on the PS3 and they lost the movie sales lead in just over a month.

From what I understand they just launched in Europe which will give them just about a 2 month head start this time. I would think that with the November launch as a yardstick, they will be trounced in Europe.

Does anyone know how European blu-ray sales will affect the Amazon rankings? I have no idea about Amazon's penetration into Europe. If they do have a large presence there, I'd be curious if the sales there would be separate or combined with the sales data we've seen on eproductwars.com.

From pre-order numbers being expressed by our member in the UK, they could sell 600K PS/3 at launch in the UK alone.

From the claims, we know about 100K add-ons shipped (and 92K sold) to the end of 2006. The claim is 150K shipped total, so only 50K for the rest of the world. And almost nothing in standalones.

Sony is saying at least 1 million units into the UK + Europe launch. Couple with elsewhere, it could easily hit 1.5 million day one.

Compared to NA or Japan, the BD v. HD DVD "war" there is going to be a complete joke. It's over on day #1 of the PS/3. It took a few months in Japan and North America.

Europe will have an awesome lineup of games as well by March. Resistance is basically on everyones list. That and other awesome titles in March will do awesome.

Also, we'll notice the ps3 sales prices in Japan get a huge boost one Virtual Fighter 5 comes out. The Japanese are crazy for that game. I predict that it will sell more ps3's than blue dragon sold 360's. Japan wants to buy into the ps3, but there arent to many reasons to over there yet.
