Default Who has sold their DVD collection?

I was just wondering if anyone has sold the majority of their DVD collection to fund their new Blu-Ray collection? I started collecting DVDs in 1998 and had quite a collection until recently, I started to sell them on eBay both in joblot and individual tv show auctions.

I have given many of my DVD away, when they were upgraded to Blu-ray. I have hundreds more (DVDs) that I am keeping for now.

Ive sold about half of my 900 or so DVDs. It almost hurts my eyes to watch SD.

I've sold none. I don't mind watching SD at all and I don't have a blu-ray player in every room of my house. I doubt I'll ever sell them because by the time I'm ready they'll be worth almost nothing.

I'm having a hard time selling my DVDs. I have tried ebay, but it's just not selling well. I don't know where to sell them because some of them I haven't seen in years and no intention to see them again.

i've only sold a few. i dont mind still holding on to my dvds. i remember doing so with vhs for a few years until i upgraded them all. plus, since bluray players will presumably always be able to play dvds, i see no reason to get rid of my collection yet.

for those who want to sell their dvds, amazon marketplace is a great place to start depending on how much your respective dvd(s) go for. some sell as low as $0.01, in which case you might actually lose money selling it because of shipping.

Here in Scotland there's a shop and other cash converting places that i trade all my DVD's into. You only get like a pound a title in the cash converting places the other one i use entertainment exchange pay's a little more per title.

I sold half of my dvds last year on ebay for $100 (About 25 dvds) and sold half of them this year but didn't get much this year due to blu-ray. I also had to sell my blu-rays and my PS3 to pay some bills. Currently I'm getting ready to re-buy everything.

I've sold a few that I upgraded to blu's. For other titles that will take a long time to come out on blu, I'm just going to pick up an upconverting dvd player and enjoy them

I may give mine away to a local library in due time. Dvd's aren't worth anything anymore...unless it's a hard-to get tv show. The last dvd I bought was American Gangster (3 disk-set) It came out when HD still had Universal rights. So I had no other option. I believe I spent around $25 for it...Now it's worth $4 on Amazon...it's a damn shame lol.

I sold ones that I have on Blu-ray and ones that are coming out. But kept ones that I love and dont want to get rid of yet even though they look like crap compared to Blu. But for the most part, its 50/50.

I sold 90% of my DVD collection and I'm working on selling the rest! I'm only keeping the MUST haves until they make their way to Blu-ray, then bye-bye..... !!!

I think selling all our DVDs at this point is a huge mistake.

There's already been some Blu-Ray releases that are sub-par in some areas compared to the DVDs. So I don't feel like slitting my throat with jumping into the pool until I'm sure all the water is there.
