Ps3 Firmware Update Question

I am expecting a 60gb ps3 from best buy tomorrow. I would assume it has the old software version on board.
in order to get it up to the latest version, do I just download the current version 2.50 or 2.52 to a removable storage device or do i have to go each individual software update version. does version 2.5 have all of the older prior updates in it as well in order to get it updated in one fell swoop?

Just get the latest update and apply it. You can also connect it wirelessly or via ethernet and have it download straight to the PS3.

You would just need the newest update. 2.52

Yeah I back FilmmakingFiasco on this. If it's connected directed to the net via Wi-fi or enthernet, the PS3 will detect automatically that an update's available. Or go to system settings and update via the internet.
