Jap. PS3 Firmware Update Question - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

Is it OK if I download the Firmware Updates via US account, or should I use a Japanes one ?

Will there be any damage to the console if I use a foreign account ?

(maybe incompatibility with games / stuff etc.

)

I don't think your PSN account is used for region detection so it doesn't matter.

Hm... what if the updates aren´t equal always...?

I guess I won´t damage anything If I use another account, but I want 100% sureness...

The correct System Software for the region of your hardware will always be downloaded through the XMB icon.

I have a Jap. PS3, and a US account.

So, the PS3 will download the japanese update automatically even if I don´t have a japanese account ?

i have a jap ps3 too and live in europe
your account has nothing to do with system updates, go ahead
