Default Speaker internal Xover problem?

I installed banana plugs on my speaker wire a few days ago. Today I rearranged my side towers a little bit to open up my pathways because a relative in a wheelchair was coming to spend the night. When I ran Audyssey to calibrate the new positions; my left surround, a Klipsch F1 tower, sounded odd when the test tones played and Audyssey errored out on that channel. It sounded as if the tweeter was not playing. I plugged my banana clips into the top posts on the speaker and it sounded fine, I was getting sound from both the tweeter and the woofer. When I was running stripped wire I always used the bottom posts, but put the brass clip on top of the wire to insure good connection with the clip.

Do you think my brass clips just weren't making good connection, or could it be a problem with the internal crossover?
