Can you select English on a Japan-purchased player? - Blu-ray Forum

I am in Korea, and thinking of picking up a PS3 tomorrow.

Can I select English somewhere, and get all of my menus and such in English? Or is this impossible? I have heard that games are dependent on language, but possibly not the PS3 itself?

I have also heard that I won't be able to play PS2 games from the USA on a Japan player. True?

I have a player from Japan. Yes I could alter all language settings.

i have a japanese ps3 and im in the uk, as soon as you turn on the console you enter the setting you want which includes english, i have even registered to the uk playstation store on line with it, works a treat

So if I register with the US Playstation store, will that present any region-coding issues if I try to download PS2 or PS3 games?
