Default select Best Buy stores will have Pioneer Elite BD player

If you live close to a Best Buy/Magnolia Home Theater location, be on the lookout for the Pioneer Elite ($1500) Blu-Ray player. I found out today that such BB locations will carry it.

Anways...thats great news, unfortunately my store doesn't have MagHiFi. Might have to take a 20-30 minute drive down south to check it out in sept.

A few stray rumors about August, which I hope don't happen.

Most likely in October.

Makes perfect sense as all the Magnolias carry the Elite Plasmas. Speaking of plasmas I saw the Elite 1080P the other day. It's nice but $10k? Forget about it. One could buy 3 65" 1080P DLP's from Mits or Samsung for the same price.

Awesome product, but way overpriced. That's an extreme example of where plasma (and LCD) are still a very questionable value, especially when you start adding tons of features and screen size.

I really find myself favoring LCOS/SXRD/DILA and DLP above all else out of the new techs, although my feelings about plasma have gone up considerably in the past year. I'd choose plasma over LCD in a lot of cases now.

I scoured the inventory system at BB yesterday and the only two BD players that are listed are the Sony and the Samsung. It may still be awile before the Panasonic and the Pioneer show up in the system.

Doesn't surprise me that there gonna carry pioneer as they carry the plasmas and reciever and dvd players. The PRO-FD1 50" is a great set. Yes its 10 grand but for a lot of people that is a reachable amount. We have 3 on order and there all sold already. Though we also sell lots of Runco stuff so our consumers are a little bit higher end then most places.

Pioneer Elite is like shopping at Walmart compared to Runco!

I wouldn't say that since runco uses pioneer planels but there is a very definite difference.
