I now have the Pioneer VSX-94TXH, as well as the PS3. I am waiting on my panasonic plasma to arrive, so I have a little bit of time to make a decision on whether or not to ship my PS3 back. My concern is audio quality. My receiver has the ability to decode HD bitstreams. Also, I understand the PS3 2.30 update enabled the player to decode DTS-HD MA, which is then sent to the receiver via LPCM. Is there a noticeable difference in audio quality between using a BD player that outputs bitstreams, thereby allowing my receiver to decode the audio and a PS3 decoding the audio, which is then sent to the receiver via LPCM?
All the best, Brian |
