Most I see, a place the Subwoofer to the left or right of the television.
Why not?... place the subwoofer near soft lovechair when i feel vibration earthquake. |

![]() As far as advise, post a pic of your room and we can give you a few ideas. But to get the best overalll sound, you will have to experiment and move the sub around. |

Heres a little trick I picked up a year ago on the THX site. Put the sub where the listener is gonna be and play a tone over the sub, whether its test noise or just a good bassy song. Then move around the room untill you find one of the spots where the bass collects and becomes loud and deep, it's usually pretty easy to find. Then just put your sub there. If you want to feel your sub then maybe get a sub that supports below 20hz like a Definitive sub, but I would really recommend a buttkicker!

Mine is halfway between the seating position and the screen, on the right hand side wall..... there is a wall (because of a bathroom) that it is also on...... so it's practically a corner placement, but not one of the four "main" corners..... I came up with this placement after various tests..... this probably wouldn't work for most, but due to the angled ceilings, and window placements (which are blocked out, but they have "Cubby-holes" so to speak that traps sound) this was the best placement I was able to find.
Here is a picture, and you'll have to visualize where the sub is etc..... You can see the subwoofer past the seats on the right (that's a riser behind those seats) and the seats are obviously facing the screen...... If anything, I guess my point is, it depends on the limitations your room has, and everyone's placement may vary...... |

follow static's advice that is the best way to position your sub, when you do this you will see how important proper placement really is. walk around the room and you will hear good spots for bass and bad spots, put it in the best spot that is practical, in my room that spot turned out to be almost in the middle of my room so i had to go to number 2.

When i had one sub it was on the left side of the T.V .
it did very well there. when i got my second sub i just put it on the other side ![]() This is a older pic ,but you can still see where the subs sit https://forum.blu-ray.com/attachment...1&d=1226028717 Some people complain that if you put the sub in the corner of your room it can sound boomy. I had this problem ,so i know of this first hand, but i think that depends on the size of your room as well Last edited by ozzman; 11-26-2008 at 01:52 AM. |

It is amazing. We have two threads with sticky on them that deal with this topic and nobody bothers to read them. Shame on me for wasting my time to write them.

Sub placement, hmmm, depends on the layout of your room... every room has a different sweet spot...i find the bass hits better on the right side of my tv v.s. left by the corner of the room.
Move your sub around to different locations until you find your "sweet spot" |
