Default Should I get a PS3 with Sony CC deal?

Hey all,
First Post here.

I have read tons and learned much more from all the great advice here on the forums. I'm really close to buying a BRP but I'm torn. My current setup for my HT is:
Video: Benq Projector (PE5120 capable of 720p or 1080i)
Audio: Onkyo HT-S780 (I use optical in for DTS and DD5.1, it has separate 5.1 analog in, but only 5.1, not 7.1 even though it is a 7.1 speaker setup)

Projector accepts DVI or component video in, no HDMI, no HDMI on receiver.

I'm looking at a Panny BK35 or 55, but my son REALLY wants a PS3 for gaming. I have told him that the PS3 is too expensive, BUT, I just found the Sony Playstation Credit Card offer which knocks $150 off a PS3. This puts the PS3 in the same range as the Panny!

What do you recommend? Consider that future growth in the audio/video area is anticipated, but not within the next year.

Thanks for all your help. These forums are great!
