Default Anyone else only really get into animated movies on BD?

For some reason I really, really enjoy animated movies like Kung Fu Panda, The Simpsons Movie, Ice Age, etc. on BD much more than regular films. It's not that I like animated films in general more because I don't, but they seem to have MUCH higher replay value and I seem to get so much more of a kick out of watching them on Blu-ray.

I don't know... maybe it's because they're all lighthearted by nature. Anyone else feel the same?

Blu-ray certainly revived my childhood interest in animated movies. To me, animation (even hand-drawn) gets a (much) better improvement in high definition than live action films.

A lot of animated features especially ones put out by Pixar have great storys, for any age plus a lot of Pixar films have in jokes for the adult audience as well. It doesn't hurt either that generally speaking all the animation on Blu I have seen have been ***** PQ and AQ.

I really enjoy animation on BD. I dont prefer it over a regular film, but I can say I really do enjoy most of them. I just watched Space Chimps. It was way better than I thought. Lot of adult jokes in there also. I'm looking forward to seeing Horton on Blu next.

Waiting for Warner Bros to release Watership Down.. I think even the newest DVD release of it is interlaced and could look better on Blu.

Don Bluth has been stating on his website that Fox/MGM had produced a Hi def master for the last DVD release for Secret of N.I.M.H. and they were planning on a Blu ray release.

I would guess it will eventually be released. Bluth and company were not pleased with the final cover art choosen for the prev few DVD releases... they would have liked it to be called a Special Edition instead of family fun and had the original poster artwork used for the package. They were hoping to change the minds at FOX before the blu ray release and to have them include more "adult" bonus features and more interviews.

With the FOX/MGM record at this time who knows what special features we would see and I doubt FOX/MGM could care less about the packaging.

It is nice to know there are some out there that do care like Bluth.
