Default New BD player / AV Reciever question

I didn't see this listed on the first couple of pages, sorry if it is buried somewhere in the forums.

I have a Sony BDP-S350, Sony HT-SS2300 A/V receiver, Sony KDL-46W4100 Television and using Monster HD1000 (i think that is the #) HDMI cables to insure the 120hz refresh rate to the television. I currently have one cable running from the BD player to the receiver and another cable running from the receiver to the tv.

My question, which may sound dumb to most of you; does the video signal loose anything as it passes through the receiver? Is it essentially the same picture quality as going straight from the BD player to the tv?

Any confirmations either way would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
