I have switched from HDMI to component simply to see if there's a picture difference as I am a little unhappy with the HDMI (might be the cable) Well, I can't get a signal after the switch. It's connected right but says 'No signal'. I've tried turning the PS3 off and restarting but nothing happens. What do I need to do?

Did you go into your PS3 system settings and configure the display output?
On the same note.. I had a Best Buy guy stop by my house. While he was there we got to talking.. for cable television he says his component cables give a better picture by far than an HDMI cable. He says all he does all day is play around with various cables.. he says its the networks that are not up to speed with the HD digital signal and component works with it way better. Anyone else hear this or use component cables over HDMI for cable TV? ![]() |

I had 560, 720 and 1080i ticked for the HDMI.
Do I need to change it? |

Or turn off the system and then when you turn it on hold down the power button until it beeps a second time and it will reset the video settings to stock and recognize whatever cable you currently have connected.

Thanks guys I've sorted it out and am really pleased with the qulaity. it's so much better than the HDMI one. No idea why, as it's suppose to be the best. It's most likely down to the TV. RGB just looks terrible on it. Very light and lack of colour. On y***** it looks superb.

From the experience on my PS3, it recognises the composite input when you reset and you have to change the settings to the input you desire. |

With component, it's Yrb and your TV has that expecting the video levels (go to BD/DVD settings and play around) |

I know this is the obvious, but make sure your TV is set to its component input channel.
