Default Keira Knightley as Eliza in new film version 'My Fair Lady'

This is not yet confirmed, but seems to be in the works according to this article:

For me that is a total disaster in the making My favorite actress ever is Audrey Hepburn and there is no way she can replace her, even if Jack Warner was stupid enough not to have Audrey sing in the movie.

Warner Brothers have not become stupid recently, they always have been

Now that might be fun too watch, but HUGE shoes too fill. You just don't replace Rex Harrison as Henry Higgins like that, lot's of hard work.

no doubt about it. I'm still waiting for MFL to come out on BluRay so I can retire my letterbox VHS

What is the point in a remake of MFL? The original is flawless. Is there anyone who truly believes that the original version (Rex Harrison, Audry Hepburn) could be improved upon? As the English would say.. "Not bloody likely"

At most a movie can tell a modern version (like 10 things I hate about you is The Taming of the Shrewd) but to remake a classic is sickening.

Nothing can surpass Audrey Hepburn in MFL, but I think the one modern actress we have right now that can pull off wearing those beautiful costumes is Keira. She has a gorgeous neckline (very much like Audrey), and costumes just look great on her. If any of you saw her in The Duchess or Atonement, or even in the 1st POC. I think I read somewhere that the green dress in Atonement was voted one of the best dresses in cinema of all time or something like that, and it has a lot to do with how the person wears it. It was stunning. But with her neckline/waistline, corsetted dresses and hats will look great on her. On the other hand, the singing and acting for the character of Eliza we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah I know, but I read mixed reviews of the first release... and again of the second release, and now that I have a BluRay player... why bother? I can use that $10 for a different movie that won't look as amazing in Blu

Good point, I had it on VHS but the tape broke so when I saw it on DVD I bought it right away (I always been in love with Audrey Hepburn ) but yes it's true the quality wasn't that great. I do hope they release this on BD soon, that will be a sure buy for me, will look stunning and sound incredible IMO
