when i already have my receiver on then click on my Tv and i notice the lights Dim for a second, that harm's my receiver?,or no because its on the same surge protector?

you would do very well for yourself if you would buy a surge protector that has either battery backup, or multiple circuits. in the monster units, they call it stage 2 power with T2 technology. it splits your video and your audio power plugs between 2 different circuits, so that your video doesn't feed into your audio and vice versa ( ex. when you turn your tv on after your reciever is on your lights dim). other surges from panamax, apc, marantz, etc will do basically the exact same thing, just look for the battery backup or dual/tri/quad circuits in the specs.. hope it helps

Can I ask why everyone is suggesting for him to get one with a Battery Backup?

not requesting so much that he get a battery backup, just the units with audio/video seperation 90% of the time happen to have the battery backup option. the op mentioned that his lights dim when he powers his units on, so his power is strecthed very thin and definately is not protected to the best of its ability. a battery backup wouldn't neccessarily be such a bad thing for them in that scenario, but it isn't really a necessity.

I would pick up a APC H10 unit (currently for $99.00 at tigerdirect.com) to replace your HT800. The APC unit is a surge protector, AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation), and has INFB (Isolated Noise Filter Banks).
