Experts on BD drives may provide an answer. My dumb guess is that many will not because your processor and graphics specs are too light, but maybe some model out there will, particularly if equipped with its own processor drivers to boost display on older or simpler PCs.

Being no expert, my approach would be to test whether an external BD drive worked with the PC. I would obtain it from a retailer with a fair return policy and open the package carefully. If it worked, I'd either keep it or swap it for an internal version of the same device. If it did not, well that would be the answer.

A short-cut might be to read the on-line specs for the model, particularly with regard to system requirements. Any software sold as a companion to the device should also have system requirement specs availalblke on the box or on-line.

I've played HD clips[including the promo for the T2 extreme dvd] on my laptop with no trouble so i'm hoping i'll be able to play blu ray on it just as well.[for $600 you'd think it'd handle blu ray].....btw I did download the BD Advisor but I figured i'd get a 2nd opinion here[it said i'd have trouble with blu ray playback]

Looks like i'm going to get a blu ray player instead of the blu ray drive.
