If i put in a disc while the computer is booting (ie the whole time before it is in windows) and i mean any disc, when it finally boots into windows the optical drive wont be there. doesnt even show up in device manager AT ALL
Also, i was install WoW onto it and i was on disc 3 and when i went to put in disc 4 the drive had dissapeared from windows and device manager. If i reboot its fine but it sucks cause i was in disc 3 of 4... This happens on both my Vista install and windows7 install (fresh install). And i have tried deleting both the upper and lower filters in the registry (common fix for issues relating to optical drive issues) Dell tried to tell me it is a software issue which is bull cause it does it on 2 operating systems and 1 is a completely fresh install. |
