Default Opportunities to use seamless branching - studios please note!

Seamless branching has been used successfully on both DVDs and BDs, and I hope the studios releasing BDs during 2009 and beyond will take full advantage of this technique for appropriate films with two distinct cuts where the differences are substantial and people might want to watch either version depending on personal preference, mood or just the time available.

A few obvious examples are:

'Apocalypse Now' (theatrical version vs Redux version)
'Dances With Wolves' (3 hr version vs 4 hr version)
'Das Boot' (theatrical version vs TV version)
'Downfall' (theatrical version vs TV version)

I'm sure there are many others that could be cited.

Dont forget the EE LOTR. I'd think that was the most obvious. I think also I'd only want to watch the EE's every five years or so. I mean, 250 minutes?!?! That's not to say that it is still one of the greatest movies ever, just a little long to watch over and over.

It has already been stated that theatrical cuts are coming in 2009 with an uber box set coming when the hobbit movies release.
