Default Which setting 4 or 6 ohm

Just got new center and fronts. Polk Audio LCI-RTS-C and a pair of LC65I. They are rated at 4 ohms. I did not have enough cash to replace the rears. My current rears are rated at 8 ohms. I'm hooked up to an Onkyo 805. Should I continue running on 6 ohms or switch it down to 4.

Thanks in advance.

I think best first at 6 ohm. you can't use 4ohm on the receiver.

Agreed, you can already fry real eggs on that 805, I don't think grilling is a very good idea indoors!?

I will leave it at 6, unless I'm ready to grill me a steak.

Thanks Guys

That question was asked several times on Impedance & Sensitivity of a Speaker thread. Read the OP and check the last few posts.

This is from page (22) of the manual:

Quote:
You can connect speakers with an impedance of between 4 and 16 ohms. If the impedance of any of the connected speakers is 4 ohms or more but less than 6, be sure to set the speaker impedance to 4 ohms (see page 45). If you use speakers with a lower impedance, and use the amplifier at high volume levels for a long period of time, the built-in amp protection circuit may be activated.
Change the receiver to 4 ohms and make Fillet Mignon instead.
