Hi everybody!
I am thinking of buying this movie on Blu-Ray but I have a US PS3 and my question is to those who have it if it is region coded and is it really PAL as amazon.co.uk says?Becaus if it is PAL I will definitely have probs with playing it

First off no the movie is not PAL. Amazon all the time just list the DVD information. Sometimes I seen disk manufuctures incorrectly list the DVD run times on the packaging but not always.

The golden compass has region B on the disk as well as region B on the case. EIV usually use newline encodes rather then do there own. To be honest you might as well buy the US version.

To note even after the warner consolidation ALL NEWLINE movies at the moment in the UK are handled by EIV. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if that will change.

EIV (seeing some US disk as well) buy the encodes so you get the exact same movie encode as for extras usually EIV include them. EIV usually region code there disks as well.

EIV holds the UK rights to these movies permanently. This is not a distribution deal

The UK disc is region locked.

That means I can not play it on my US PS3.If so I will save another 40$ because that's the price of the BD's here in Bulgaria.Thanks everybody for the answers and warmest wishesh for the holiday season

Thanks for clearing that up. I was not 100% sure if it was a distrubition deal or not.
