Event Horizon $19.99 saw it years back and thought it was ok, but heard this bluray is steretched

Old School $14.99 saw it years back, but not sure if this bluray is a big leap from SDVD

Serenity is nothing like Sunshine. If you like Sci-fi you will like Serenity.

Event Horizon is a little steretched, but from what i understand is it doesn't distort the picture any.

If you like Old School then pick up the bluray. For the most part any movie in blu will be better to some degree over the DVD counterpart.

Serenity - actually just saw this for the first time and I've never watched the series it's based on ("Firefly"). I gotta say though, it really impressed me. The characters were great, there was some great action, and it was just entertaining. It felt like the Star Wars prequels we should have gotten, not all the dramatic love story stuff. I'd say definitely rent it or buy.

Event Horizon - nifty little horror story. I like it, but I'd say rent it. The replay value isn't that high. It's good for a scare or two though.

Old School - funny movie, but like the title, it got old for me quick. I stuck with the DVD.

Hope this helps.

Serenity - I laughed when I saw the trailer and I never knew much about Firefly. So I didn't expect much from this film but after going to it in theaters I absolutely loved it. It has a bit of everything - comedy/action/sci-fi. I would Highly Recommend it. (Just ordered Firefly on Blu-Ray)

Event Horizon - Sometimes creepy but I thought this movie was pretty lame (although it has been over 5 years since I saw it last).

Old School - Above average comedy. Not sure if it would be worth owning on High-Def.

Serenity is terrific. Be sure to get Firefly first and then watch Firefly.

Event Horizon is Scifi/Horror. Very good.

Old School is a good comedy.

bought old school a few weeks ago, it is a definite upgrade over the DVD... a lot more detail, some scenes seem a little soft, but an upgrade for sure..

take a look at the scene with the "godfather" and elisha cuthbert in bed, the feathers flying around her head was never noticeable until the blu ray came out..

Ummmm... not true AT ALL. I LOVE Sci-Fi and I thought Serenity was one of the most worthless movies ever to be made.

Then you clearly don't love sci-fi. See, caught in your own lie.

Go with Old School, it is by far the best of the three titles you listed.

well i rented Eagle Eye (havent watched it) and Serenity (before i blind buy it) Serenity was a decent movie (not worth buying IMO, will prob never watch again)

But here's the question

Serenity had a star wars, star trek feel (in a great way) this movie felt like it should be the first movie in a trilogy or something... anyone else get that feeling? I never watched the show but this movie just seemed like it loayed the basics down, ready for Serenity 2: The Alliance Strikes Back

I dont remeber if I have seen Event Horizon, but Serenity is alot cooler movie after watching the show. You can make sense of it, but the show was bad ass. I would go with Old School. Your my boy blue!

Never saw Firefly and I was really impressed with Serenity. Good acting, writing, special effects were really good for a low(er) budget movie. It really exceeded my expectations.
