I got the player yesterday and I can't figure out how to properly rip a movie and burn it to disk and get it to play. I'm definitely a newbie, but I'm using dvd-r which are supported. I tried handbrake (i have a mac) which rips to mpeg-4. That didn't work. Then I tried another program which converts files to mpeg-2 with no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks |

Mac has a program called "TOAST",...it will make DVD's that will play on your 2500. It will NOT copy a DVD that has commercial copy protection on it. None of the commercially available programs will do that,....because it's illegal. Unprotected material will burn just fine.

to Rip the DVD into the proper DVD format. If you are converting video, Nero Recode does a good job of converting to the DVD format (simply putting a MPEG 2 file on the disc probably won't work). When the rip is complete, the disc should have a VIDEO_TS folder inside, and possibly an AUDIO_TS which will probably be empty. In that VIDEO_TS folder will be numerous IFO, BUP and VOB files. These are the mpeg files encoded into the proper format for DVD.
Hope this helps. BTW, SlySoft has some excellent programs that might help. (I am in no way affiliated with either NERO or Slysoft) |

I'm not sure those programs I mentioned work with MAC, but you may want to check them out to see.
