Default Ben-Hur & Wizard of Oz: Does Warner have release date for this Blu-ray?!

After Casablanca's ultimate Blu-ray gift set, I would assume that Warner's would follow in suit with other treasures from their vault. Does anyone have any information on other Warner/MGM classics due out on Blu-ray?

Wizard Of Oz is coming within the year as a ultimate edition, but no actual date has been revealed.

I have not heard/read anything about those titles. I am anxious to know myself. Both would be day 1 purchase for me.

All I've heard was 70th anniversary for Oz, which would be second week in August.
Don't quote me on it, though, and sales seasons permitting.

A lot of times they don't actually release them on the exact week of theatrical release. So really it could be anytime in 09.

Really want both of those films...specially The Wizard of Oz. Just want to read an approximate release date, a rumor, anything.

Amazon.com did update it's "Wizard of Oz" BD page to show some form of blu-ray art for the film. It would seem that we will be getting another one of these $50 super duper collector sets similar to Casablanca.

I really don't want all of that just want the film in a standard BD case with maybe a behind the scenes documentary. I don't need luggage tages, postcards, and all of the other fluff they are going to stuff into this huge box.

I agree. The price tag for Casablanca is way too much. I am going to wait for that to dip down in prices. It just irks me that I can't see Warner Classics on high definition home viewing. I really surprised TCM does not broadcast an HD channel. Either way I will be waiting for the announcement of both films.

Oh, I am also waiting for Singin' In The Rain in Blu-ray. Why they are releasing Gigi and An American In Paris before Singin' is unheard of.
