Guys it's almost been 50 years since the huge production of 1959. I"m hoping in 2009 that the 50th anniversary will finally make the blu-ray gods release this movie in all its glory? ANybody heard anything about this yet or what in the heck is going on with it? I want it, I want it, (come on chant with me)

Yes, seeing that naval battle in BD will be just amazing

Yes, WB said earlier this year we will get Ben-Hur in 2009 for its anniversary, along with Gone with the Wind, Gigi, The Wizard of Oz, An American in Paris, and some other titles I can't recall at the moment.

I realize its not for all the younger crowd (which I am a part of) but it's a monumental classic for sure, whether you liked it or not I'd have to say? I'd hope for a 2-disc special edition, similar to the 4 disc DVD special edition that was remastered a few years ago, but this time it needs to be Blu, and remastered to its fullest glory possible, I can't wait if it really IS coming out in 09, hooray!!!!
