Default Question about Black Bars

Is there a possibility to calibrate your set so well that the blackness during the ending credits fully blends with the blackness of the black bars on the top and bottom of widescreen viewing? Does anyone have their TV calibrated that well?

Mine is pretty close, but it depends on the movie I think.

That's basically the sign of a set having the "deepest" blacks. If you can have your set calibrated to achieve that, then you are in Black-Heaven. Not all sets are capable of achieving this, however. Pioneer and many Pany plasmas will get you there without a lot of effort. Your set should have the capability of getting pretty close.

Do you know what calibration settings I need to have in order to achieve that close of the deepest black?
