hey all,
im new to the blu ray universe picked up my first movies tonight and was wondering if it was just me but i popped underworld in and noticed that the black bars wouldn't dissapear on my widescreen tv, is this because the movie isnt anamorphic? was just wondering thanks to all for listening |

Underworld was filmed in 2:40 ratio which means black bars are normal. you are getting the picture as it was filmed. there is a ratio that fills your whole tv 1:85. BUt i think 2:40 is better since you get the entire viewing of the film. Enjoy The movie. Very good! |

soooo what your saying in a sense is that even on a 32' widescreen tv those bars are norm? on my dvd player i was able to eliminate those on most movies i guess on blu i dont have that option for some reason, but i will take your word for it thanks for the intel

..... Another one of these? Well your new here so let me run ya through the basics... All movies on Blu are presented in their original aspect ratio so yes all movies are anamorphic... Certain movies like Disturbia just happen to fill up you T.V. Also if you look in the movies section of the forums you will see a sticky thread about this... I think i got all this stuff right.. Anyone else want to correct me?

I agree with this, but it seems like we are getting alot of new members who are starting new posts when there are multiple posts on the same subject floating around already.
They need to know to look at the Forum Main Page and see if there is a existing post already before starting a new one. I think that is fair, but just my opinion. |
