I have ran across CV speakers numerous times and they are always fairly inexpensive. I have always heard of CV, but what kind of quality speaker are they. Could you build a descent HT with them?

I have a CV sub the CLS12 and it will shake the walls upstairs and down. It has BASH technology which means something just not sure what. If I had a choice though I would want the servo 15 from Paradigm only because it would be amazing just to see what it could do.

I had a 5.1 CV setup.... 12" towers, a center, a couple of bookshelfs for surrounds, and a 15" sub
Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have never wasted the money on them...... they sound like absolute garbage. COPY/PASTE from my other thread.... Yeah, the "Dungeon" that is my basement.... at least part of it..... here's my fancy Sony AVR and DVD player (for CDs) The center channel on top isn't plugged in, and hasn't actually been used in a LONG time. The "Wide" view Junky speaker close-up ![]() I'm probably going to give these (with center/sub/surrounds) away to a friend..... I'm sick of them taking up space, and he'll give me a small pair of bookshelfs or something that I can mount in the joists above the foos-table. Last edited by Beta Man; 02-11-2009 at 07:31 PM. |

I do plan to upgrade to paradigms but that'll cost alot and there's no urgency to do so because I use these for HT and as I said they sound good in my 12' by 21' room. ![]() |

CV tends to be overly bass heavy; they lack clarity and accuracy. Depends on what you're looking for - personally I would never buy CV because I prefer accuracy and clarity of bass heavy; that's what a good sub is for and can produce more accurately w/ little or no distortion.
There are a lot of inexpensive, accurate speakers out there - especially if you're roaming ebay. Look at PSB Alpha's; Axiom audio makes wonderful speakers for not a lot of money. The choices are limitless. |
