Toshiba 42RV535U - some opinions on this set needed - Blu-ray Forum

so i've decided to finally upgrade to an HDTV and my mind has been pretty much set on the Panasonic 42PZ80U for a while. But i was just browsing buy.com and noticed the Toshiba 42RV535U for $840.

I can't seem to find much info pro reviews on this TV, so if anyone can share some opinions/comments to help me i would really appreciate it.

why buy a product from an anti BD company?

We have had several toshiba LCD's at work in our staff canteens and they have been universally shite. The panel has failed on all of them after only a couple of years of light use. Granted these are older models that you can't currently get but in my opinion stay away. For LCD stick with either sony or samsung or if that panny that you are looking at is a plasma then i'd stump up the extra and go with that

That from a person that probably has many Microsoft products. Do you have a Mac?

Poster - If you like the Toshiba buy it. I like Toshiba products. I have 2 Samsungs, 3 Sharps and 1 Toshiba. The Toshiba gets the most use.

thanks for the comments, i still have the Panny Plasma as my number one choice as they seem to be universally liked, just wanted to have a couple more options available just in case.

Out of those get the Panny. I have several of them & their great TV's. Toshiba sucks, & not because of HD DVD....
