USA Opinions Needed - Looking for a new TV

I am looking to my fellow blu-ray brothers and sisters to see what TV they would recommend. I am looking a budget of around $1,500 - $2,000 along with the best PQ I can find for the price.

Any suggestions?

Thumbs up Hdtv

This is a no brainer - Panasonic TC-P50V10 plasma. IMHO, this is the best HDTV on the market today.

That's easy....THIS Pioneer KRP-500M for $1600 shipped. I got mine from this very same seller. It gets no better than this set right now.

I can't really tell the overall room layout from his gallery pics, but that's certainly a possibility...... then he could still use his current t.v. behind a drop-down screen for T.V. viewing etc..... I don't see any windows etc. from the pictures

Hey King, hopefully you and/or the wife are open to this idea. I just got a projector last week where I drop down the screen in front of my LCD TV. It is a great experience, and movies have become more like an "event." That room looks like it has little or no windows, so a projector is a very viable option in that space. With your budget, you can easily get everything you need and still be under that budget to buy more blus'. And if PQ is #1 important to you, don't discount projectors as they can throw an incredible and clear image.

Plus both the screen and projector would be up high and away from your Mastiff's!

To be honest, I didn't even think of a projector setup. Yes, there are no windows in the room, just a sliding glass door which is being replaced with french doors in a couple of weeks. There are only two window in the kitchen which is open to the living room in my pics. My only concern would be the vaulted ceilings and trying to hang the projector.. The wall where my tv is plenty big enough.

Well, depending on how close the TV is to the wall, they do make brackets to hang a screen on that could pertrude enoguh away from the wall to still place the projector screen in front of the TV. If you could widen your front soundstage to fit the screen in between the fronts and if the TV is against the wall, you might still have a viable option with a projector set-up. No doubt the vaulted ceilings play havoc with your audio, but I think we went over that already.....
