What's going on with their BD player? Anyone heard anything?

No one is 100% sure with anything regarding the Oppo player. They have been playing it very close to the vest about everything related to availability. Rumors indicate March at the earliest now.

The long wait is not doing their sales potential any good. People are starting to think it might not happen in this economy. It take a lot of capital to launch a new product of this caliber.

True that, plus the other brands are lowering prices left and right.
It's just I would like to be able to get rid of my region free DVD player and be able to play DVD-Audios.
Let's hope it happens and the price is somehow reasonable...

You're going to need to keep your region free DVD player - the Oppo will not be capable of playing other regions.

DVD-Audio is just a hope at this point. There should be an official press announcement soon.

Really? I thought everything that oppo makes was region free. That's not good.

All OPPOS DVD players and BDP-83 player will be capable of playing other regions - Pls. get information before to write an opinion. Thank you.
