I love his "why do rich people have to strike?"

Because the people who are striking aren't the rich people, they're the people who mostly do OK, some better than others but are far far far from "rich"

I personally thought the Transformers was a horrible movie. It was a bunch of special effects with no real plot. I can't understand why people are making a big deal about a junk movie.

Yes, that's so true. It's one of the biggest misconceptions about the unions for actors and actresses. People always seem to assume that they are millionaires and all that.

Most of them work as extras, appear in commercials, small roles on TV shows, stage shows, etc.

Very relevant to this forum is that they want more money from the video sales, because that's where the real money is coming more and more.

But they still don't make a fortune

The writers guild strike will affect pretty much every Studio and project in Hollywood, not just Transformers 2. But it is mostly aimed at the TV side, specifically that they want residuals for tv shows on DVD and download sites like iTunes.

Sometimes I wish Georgie boy would just release Star Wars because you are right, if any movie could single handedly end the format war, Star Wars is it.
